Overview:

The Job in a Nutshell:

The Training Specialist - SAP is a primary deliverer and creator of training content at the good4u University Training Center within the Golden Store Support Center (SSC). The Crew member in this role will have a high degree of understanding of all store operations, but must have especially advanced skills in the use of SAP. Training Specialists must thrive on working in the spotlight, be passionate about Natural Grocers mission, have strong interpersonal skills, and bring both creativity and strong organizational/time management skills to their work. The Training Specialist - SAP collaborates with the other members of the good4u University Training Center to provide the most comprehensive and engaging training possible for new Store Managers, Assistant Store Managers, and Department Managers across all areas of instructional content (including inventory management, SAP, operational processes/procedures, customer service, leadership, among other topics) in classroom and live store environments.

Responsibilities:

  1. Main Ingredients:

    1. Serve as lead Trainer and Developer for SAP-focused instruction
    2. Serve as primary asset manager for the training SAP environment (VET) at the Training Center, including:
      1. Generate sales data and create cycle counts to ensure realistic inventory and sales movement numbers
      2. Generate replenishment data for training sites to create orders
      3. Generate POs for receiving practice
    1. Serve as the primary responder for communication from stores to the Training Center regarding SAP
    2. Develop and deliver instruction on the following topics:
      1. Replenishment and on the floor ordering
      2. Department Management procedures and best practices
      3. Customer Experience and CARE
      4. Receiving Operations, including Forklift Safety and best practices
      5. Safety and Loss Prevention
      6. Store Management responsibilities, including leadership soft skills the 3 Pillars of Effective Leadership
    3. Own the development and creation of training programs and materials, using a variety of formats, including classroom coursework, games, activities, manuals, etc.
    4. Training good4u University trainees within live store environments
    5. Act as interdepartmental liaison for assigned projects and curriculum
      1. Continually communicate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure accurate instruction is being provided
      2. Attend meetings with SMEs, providing feedback and insight for upcoming or in-progress projects
    1. Occasionally travel to Natural Grocers stores to train store Management and Crew
    2. Other projects or tasks as assigned

    Although this is a general outline of job responsibilities, all Crew are expected to be hands on and do whatever it takes to get the job done and help the company thrive.

Qualifications:

  1. Recipe for Success:

    1. High school diploma or equivalent required
    2. Minimum of 1 year NGVC experience regularly using SAP is required
    3. Department Manager experience preferred
    4. Experience in developing training materials and/or providing structured in-person training strongly preferred
    5. Proficiency working with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
    6. Experience using Camtasia, Adobe, or other digital content development tools preferred
    7. Must be able to deliver content in an enthusiastic, engaging, and easily understandable manner
    8. Must be highly motivated, work independently, solve problems independently, manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and be willing to collaborate as a key member of the Training Center
    9. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively with all levels or personnel within stores and at our Store Support Center
    10. Ability to effectively present and speak in front of large groups
    11. Ability to work a flexible and changing schedule
    12. Resourceful problem solver

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to frequently lift or carry up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift or carry 11-50 lbs.

  • Must be able to constantly use the computer for data entry and use of mouse.
  • Must be able to constantly sit, use fine motor manipulations, and reach outward for the duration of the work shift.
