Description
Essential Functions:
• Implementation, configuration, development, and support of SAP TM and related integrated technologies.
Activities include:
• Work with business stakeholders to understand business processes and elicit, define, analyze and document requirements.
• Collaborate with functional and technical teams across the client applications portfolio to define, design and deliver robust integrated solutions that meet business needs, follow industry best practices, leverage standard application functionality, and adhere to application design guidelines, strategies, and best practices.
• Create deliverables according to the Software Development Lifecycle such as functional and technical specifications, use cases, test cases, and system documentation.
• Configure, develop, and unit test applications to meet designs.
• Create integrated test cases to cover business processes and system functions; execute tests; analyze and resolve defects.
• Collaborate with business partners throughout the development lifecycle to ensure solutions will meet business needs and deliver the desired benefits.
• Facilitate resolution of cross-team business issues.
• Collaborate with business partners on deployment including training, change management, and communications.
• Manage own work to deliver according to project schedules; be accountable for delivery.
• Apply project management standards and concepts; prepare work estimates and work schedules; create and update documentation including project plans, user stories, and backlog.
• Support production systems; proactively work to analyze and resolve production problems in a timely manner. Assess and resolve end user service requests. Contribute to continuous improvement processes including identification of root cause and corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities to leverage applications to improve business processes, and support business re-engineering efforts. Research and represent industry best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor’s in information systems or equivalent required. Master’s in computer science, Business Administration, or Supply Chain a strong plus.
Experience:
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in Information Technology, preferably applications development or configuration.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience with SAP TM including at least one full lifecycle implementation project.
• Minimum 5 years working with business processes related to Transportation including Transportation Optimization, Planning & Execution, Track & Trace, Event Management and other processes as they relate to Transportation and Logistics.
• Experience with SAP processes in ECC (WM/SD/LE/MM) a strong plus.
• Experience with Manhattan PkMS a strong plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Expert level knowledge of SAP TM functionality. SAP TM implementation, support experience, and strong understanding of Sales and Distribution module and interactions between SAP SD/LE and SAP TM (preferably release 8.0 or higher).
• Expertise in configuration and customization in all functions of SAP TM.
• Functional knowledge of various modes of transportation, i.e. air, LTL, intermodal, truck load (flatbed, van, dry/liquid bulk, hazardous materials), rail, containerized, break bulk, and dry bulk ocean freight, etc. as well as materials handling and supply chain concepts and processes.
• Able to architect and design robust, sustainable technical solutions including how the solution will interact with other functional areas. Able to work cross-functionally with other technical resources to ensure complete, thorough, end-to-end solutions.
• Excellent skills in systems analysis, problem analysis, debugging, troubleshooting, and technical error resolution. Can facilitate small groups to analyze/debug/resolve problems.
• Solid knowledge of software development lifecycle; able to manage solutions through entire SDLC from design through development, testing, and deployment including release and change management. Proactively supports business deployment including communications and training.
• Excellent business requirements analysis skills. Able to work with business stakeholders, understand needs, produce alternatives with recommendations. Strong ability to communicate technical topics clearly with business stakeholders.
• Excellent data analysis skills; strong understanding of business operational reporting needs and how to meet those needs effectively with a variety of systems solutions. Strong working knowledge of core systems data models and able to translate meaning of data to business stakeholders.
• Business Relationships: Builds and maintains strong relationships with stakeholders including end users, Super Users, Managers, and Business Process Owners in multiple business areas; proactively manages stakeholder expectations; works productively and collaboratively.
• Project Management, Planning & Organizing: Ability to develop project scope, objectives and resource estimates for small projects. Able to manage small projects to successful conclusion, on schedule.
