JOB DESCRIPTION: The Solution Architect - Order to Cash (SAP OTC) will be involved in the solution design and governance and ongoing support in the Sales and Distribution (SAP SD) functional area of IT systems. This position acts as a primary functional owner. The person will be responsible to ensure that the systems are configured for the maximum benefit and will work very closely with the commercial, customer service, logistics and other departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Solution ownership and governance for the sales and distribution functional area
  • Design, develop, configure and maintain best practice solutions
  • Maintain internal Knowledge Base to help SAP users troubleshoot issues on their own
  • Define and document business requirements and objectives and translate these into system requirements and automation. This includes writing functional and technical documents and specifications
  • Provide expertise on new application releases and implementation of new functionality using SAP FI, SAP OTC, SAP SD and other tools
  • Manage the preparation of and participate in end user systems acceptance testing. Ensure results of testing meet functional requirements as specified by end-user
  • Help define testing scenarios and develop test scripts
  • Ensures appropriate user security set-up and maintenance
  • Supervise 3rd party vendors delivering ongoing AMS support
  • Collaborate with other functional area team for integrations with Sales and Distribution functionality
  • Build close working relationships with business and operational departments like Global HR, Finance, IT, to manage overall system deliverables and drive continuous improvement
  • Perform data assessments and analysis to validate data quality and database integrity
  • Ensure SAP applications and integrations adhere to leading best practices, operational requirements, and organizational values
  • Demonstrate sound project management methodologies in approach to project tasks and deadlines

 
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field

  • At least 7 years of SAP SD (Sales and Distribution) and SAP OTC (Order to Cash) functional & system design experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); Visio a plus
  • Chemical Industry experience will be a plus

  • At least 3+ full cycle SAP implementations
  • Strong technical Knowledge, solution design and configuration experience in SAP Sales and Distribution module
  • Ability to work with business users to understand and gather requirements and translate requirements into higher quality solutions
  • Experience working cross-functionally with a wide variety of teams, including other functional areas like Record to Report, Procure to Pay, Plan to Stock, Regulatory and Hire to Retire
  • Demonstrated and willingness to gain more in-depth knowledge of the systems with training and hands on use
  • Demonstrated experience in problem solving and system troubleshooting
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate both technical and non-technical information with team members at various levels, including business leaders
  • Knows how to build relationships with business partners and become a trusted technical advisor
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborate environment
  • Deep understanding of end to end business processes like Make to Stock Sales, Make to Order Sales, Intercompany, Stock Transfers, Rebates and Commissions.
  • SAP order management process, Logistics and Shipment process, 3PL integration, pricing, taxation, credit management, Batch Management/determinations, availability check
  • Good understanding of interfaces including EDI/IDOC processes
