Title: Sr SAP Indirect Tax & Vertex Implementer
Location: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid/work 2-3 days onsite)
Duration: 6-month Contract to Hire w/Client

Job Description:
Our global advertising client is rolling out a global instance of SAP to marketing and communication agencies. The SAP instance is branded "Vantage”, which is comprised of tools supporting Budgeting and Forecasting, Resource and Project Planning, Financial and Operations Management. The Vantage program requires a SAP consultant with strong Vertex integration, SAP Tax procedure configuration and business analyst skills. They will also be required to support their purchasing solution.

The candidate would preferably have professional service industry experience ideally in advertising, media and digital services. Implementation experience of Vertex O Series, SAP invoice verification and FI AP invoice processing is also required. The successful candidate will lead on all aspects of the development cycle for purchase order and vendor invoice processing. An enthusiasm to learn and work with new processes and technology is also essential. This position requires a versatile person that can be both technical and process oriented to be able to work with the technical team as well as explaining technical solutions to a non-technical audience.

• Defining the business requirements by:
  • Consulting with key business stakeholders: liaising with the Vantage deployment team, as well as external financial advisors and our consultancy partners
  • Determining highest priority requirements for the group and managing expectations related to any changes to those priorities/requirements
  • Documenting the business requirements, including detailed process flows where applicable
  • Collaborating with our Development Team to determine the best solution design
  • Creating or reviewing functional specifications for development team
  • Participating in the review and prioritization of business enhancement requests for potential inclusion in subsequent product releases
• Configuration in Vantage for both new indirect tax solutions and the deployment of existing functionality
• Testing enhancements either through scheduled integration testing or on an ad-hoc basis for break-fix items
  • The FAO is accountable for the successful and timely completion of all Unit and QA testing
  • Ensuring an adequate level of regression testing is performed
  • Documenting integrated business scenarios as well as the creation and management of a test script repository for indirect tax

• Validating that the solution meets the global and local legal/business requirements
• Participating in the deployment of the SAP enhancements and break-fix items to the Vantage user base, including:
  • Collaboration with Vantage solution adoption teams on end user communication strategy
  • Participating and advising on the creation of training materials
  • Providing hands-on training where required both to internal teams and external business

Required Skills:

• Strong business process knowledge and expertise
• 5-7 years' experience SAP > Vertex O Series (preferably version 9.0) integration experience
• Direct hands-on configuration experience Vertex Accelerator
• Candidate will be able to demonstrate extensive experience of SAP FI Tax Configuration, Tax Procedure and MM Pricing Procedure
• Candidate will be able to demonstrate extensive experience of supporting Canadian and US tax requirements Canada
• Candidate will also have implemented SAP tax solutions for multiple countries
• Good understanding of SAP ABAP: the candidate will be comfortable with ABAP concepts and principles. Ideally, they would have some debugging knowledge.
• Ability to analyze complex business scenarios and present a concise recommendation for resolution
• Ability to translate the business requirement to technical requirements vice versa and effectively communicate to a broad audience
• Someone with initiative who holds themselves to high standards and is able to work with minimal direct supervision
• Ability to manage developments in an organization where individuals that you are relying on do not report directly to you
• Strong communication skills: in writing as well as in presenting to senior leadership
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or Information Technology

Bonus/Soft Skills:

• Ability to influence decisions and be a strong collaborator
• Strong accounting experience
• Hands-on configuration experience of SAP Purchasing, LIV, Material Master and FI AP
• Good understanding of Fiori/web dynpros/user portals
• Worked as a super user or a Global Process Owner in a large international corporation
