Description
The position of Sr SAP BW Analyst will report to and support the Director of Applications and Development, and will design and develop reports to fulfill the needs of functional business analysis and support the BW production system by analyzing issues and working with the team and business leads across the company to resolve those issues. The position will work directly with representatives from departments across the business to define requirements for new reports and changes to existing reports, build the appropriate reports or changes in the BW system, and work with the various business departments to validate reports fully in QA.
Job Responsibilities
oThe position will be responsible for ensuring the design of new reports is in line with business requirements and expectations, and for identifying priority changes/updates by anticipating business needs.
oDuties involve: Working closely with Business Leads to understand requirements for new reports and the underlying business needs beneath those requirements; designing reports and any underlying data structures required to support the reporting requirements; understanding the connected ERP system to develop a core knowledge base of z-fields and z-tables on top of standard SAP; and ensuring all new reports are properly tested prior to moving to the production environment
oSupport the SAP BW system on a daily basis. Prioritize issues as appropriate in consultation with business leads across all departments of the company
oAnalyze production issues to determine the root cause and business impact, and coordinate with the appropriate parties in IT to resolve the issues on a day-to-day basis
oDocument business requirements for new reports, design reports to meet new business requirements, build new data structures and reports in BW, and coordinate testing of these reports with business leads
oWork with assigned business leads throughout all divisions of the company to ensure reports meet all business needs and expectations, all business processes are properly understood by IT, and all appropriate processes are tested for each new report
oTest new reports and changes to existing reports
oCoordinate business testing of new reports and changes to existing reports
oHelp Director to continually improve efficiency in the planning and execution of report requirements gathering, prioritization, design, development, testing, and deployment
oDevelop and maintain relationships with all business leads across the organization
Required Qualifications
o10+ years' experience in development of data structures and reports in SAP BW
o5+ years' experience in development of reports in SAP BOBJ
oExperience in at least one lifecycle BW implementation
oExperience in reporting on data originating from SAP SD, MM, and FI modules
oExcellent verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with team members within IT and throughout all levels of the company
oStrong planning and organizational skills
oExcellent computer, data analysis, and problem solving skills
oProficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook
oThe position will be based in the Manchester, CT corporate office
Preferred Qualifications
oKnowledge of SAP EWM module
oExperience in development of BOBJ Dashboards
oSAP Certifications - BW/BI
oWell organized, detail oriented, has good judgment
oA team player as well as be able to own and execute tasks on his or her own
oMust work well under pressure and possess excellent customer service and positive attitude
