Currently Meijer is seeking a strong Techno-Functional Senior SAP Application Engineer for our Corporate Finance train.

The Sr. SAP Engineer designs, develops (ABAP), configures, tests, maintains, and enhances SAP solutions for Meijer Finance and Indirect Procurement. In this role you will drive engagement with software vendors, solution consultants, company customers, and IT colleagues to understand, assess, and develop solutions within a SAFe agile framework.

This is a hybrid work opportunity with Mon.-Wed. (3 days) in office (required) and a comprehensive relocation package is available.
We expect the qualified candidate to have a minimum of 5 years experience in application design, ABAP development experience in FICO. This is a hybrid remote work opportunity with (Mon.-Wed.) 3 days in office – Note: a comprehensive relocation package is available if needed.
 

What You’ll Be Doing (Responsibilities:

• Design, code (ABAP), configure, test, and implement programs.

• Configuring SAP S/4 HANA FICO including but not restricted to FI-AR, AP, GL, Fixed Assets, Banking, CO-Product Costing, CO-Profit Center Accounting, CO-Cost Center Accounting

• Performs unit tests, monitors results, and takes required corrective actions as needed.

• Optimizes and enhances applications and interfaces to meet SLA/functional requirements.

• Provides subject matter expertise and technical consultation in new systems development, new package system evaluations and enhancement of existing systems.

• Drives engagement with ITS Security and Infrastructure teams to ensure secure deployment of vendor applications.

• Partner with the Product Owners and Vendor partners to develop acceptance criteria for features and user stories and ensures acceptance criteria are met.

• Coordinates structured walkthroughs, secure coding, and technical reviews ensuring application coding and design follows secure coding and design principles.

• Actively participates in all team Agile ceremonies.

• Assists in the production support and maintenance of applications as needed.

What You Bring With You (Qualifications):

• Bachelor’s or 12 years' experience (or comparable combination of education and related experience).

• Any SAFe certification or training and or experience on Agile teams is preferred.

• Minimum 5 years in application design, ABAP development experience

• Must have ABAP development experience in SAP FICO

• Experience as lead developer with cross-functional SAP projects

• Hands on experience in SAP Custom Development – ALV reports, ALE, IDoc, BDC, User Exits, BADI, SAP Smart Form, SAP Script, BRF+

• Functional experience with Ariba beneficial

• Ability to design and develop applications which integrate with other systems, platforms, and external services

• Knowledge of SAP BPC, BTP, Analytics Cloud and SAP Group Reporting is beneficial

• Knowledge of integration concepts such as web services, and Process Integration/Process Orchestration (PI PO)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
