Position Overview
Avantus Federal, recently acquired by QinetiQ US, is looking for a Sr. SAP Security Specialist. The contractor shall provide the full range of special access program (SAP) security support to the SAPCO and various program management offices throughout OUSD(R&E). Support will consist of a broad range of products and services spanning all security disciplines. Proficiency in program protection and security management of DoD SAPs is required. Duties include:
Responsibilities
- Provide SAP personnel security products and services that include: determining SAP access eligibility; preparing nomination packages, waivers, or letters of compelling need; maintaining SAP databases; and managing/reporting/tracking SAP access suitability information.
- Provide SAP industrial security products and services that include: assessing security compliance by contractors performing on SAP contracts; reviewing contractor requests for facility accreditations; and determining security requirements for sensitive tests and activities.
- Provide SAP physical security products and services that include: preparing and assessing SAP facility accreditation packages; managing facility folders; preparing facility SOPs, MOAs/CUAs, and facility close-out packages; and developing risk mitigation for threats.
- Provide information security products and services that include: classification management; Top Secret accountability and media control; writing SCGs and security policy; technology transfers; foreign disclosure; security training; and investigating security incidents.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university is required.
- TS/SCI Required
- Senior-level support requires a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant SAP security experience with five (5) cumulative years managing multi-discipline security programs for DoD acquisition SAPs.
- Expertise in all security disciplines, e.g., personnel, industrial, physical, and information security.
- Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects and tasks, and deliver high quality and timely results and work products.
- The last SAP security-related position must be within the last nine months.
- Experience working in a headquarters-level organization desired.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) certification through the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE).
- At the discretion of the Government, a minimum of four (4) years of specialized experience which includes military experience may be substituted in lieu of specific educational requirements, in addition to the minimum experience listed above.
