Level: Senior Engineer
The Senior Engineer, (SAP SD Vistex) is an SAP functional expert within Cardinal Health’s Medical Segment. This position is responsible for enabling new capabilities and/or accommodating changing business needs within the Order to Cash process. The Senior Engineer (SAP SD Vistex) will be responsible for designing, building, testing and implementing SAP solutions with the business partners.
Accountabilities
- Design and build end-to-end business solutions which solve process pain points, optimize the use of technology, and are in line with industry best practices and Cardinal Health’s development guidelines
- Perform effective analysis to investigate business problems, identify and expose root causes, identify and evaluate options, and recommend solutions
- Author functional specifications and other end-user training materials
- Guide ABAP development, and the work of any augmented staff resources
- Develop a comprehensive set of Functional Unit Tests, execute and/or oversee execution of tests, and identify and resolve system defects
- Contribute to the complete set of cutover tasks and dependencies that will enable a successful release of program code and configuration
- Provide timely and effective communications, including appropriate status updates, to all impacted stakeholders/project partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in related field preferred
- SAP SD Certification
- Expert level, hands-on SAP skills in Order to Cash process (SD, Vistex, MM, FI/CO, APO GATP)
- SAP SD Configuration – Sales Order types, Item Categories, Billing Document types, Output determination, Copy Control, Schedule line categories, Available to Promise, Idocs
- SAP SD Pricing - Condition Technique, Pricing Methodology, Knowledge of VOFM Routine
- Vistex – Release 5.0E, Customer Rebates, Incentives and Paybacks for Chargebacks and Billbacks, Agreement Management, Claims Management, Composite Processing, Data Objects
- ABAP - Reading and de-bugging ABAP code
- Ability to design and build reports and/or queries for end users
- Implementation experience in full life cycle, large scale SAP project, where solution integrated across SAP modules, and other non-SAP technologies and e-Commerce Platforms
- Working knowledge of three or more technologies preferred
- Hands on experience gathering requirements and creating functional specs
- Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, organizational and planning skills
- Proficient PC skills; including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Effective oral/written communicator: conveys thoughts and ideas simply and concisely; breaks down complex topics and translates content in easy-to-understand messages; separates what is important from what is not
What Software Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health
- Software Engineering is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and supporting applications, systems and IT products required to achieve the company's business objectives.
- Demonstrates knowledge of software development techniques and fluency in software languages and application programming interfaces.
- Demonstrates general understanding of hardware/software platforms including but not limited to operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers and integration technologies.
- Plans and executes system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts.
- Demonstrates conceptual knowledge of architecture standards and database and operating systems.
- Demonstrates problem solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of system issues including but not limited to production outages.
- Analyzes production system operations using tools such as monitoring, capacity analysis and outage root cause analysis to identify and drive change that ensures continuous improvement in system stability and performance.
- Demonstrates knowledge of software development, life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, business/functional documents. Estimates to high level business requirements and provide options analysis.
