The SAP Subject Matter Expert – Accounting is
responsible for providing support, analysis, and research into complex problems
and processes relating to the Corporate Accounting Function as well as assist
in various month end close tasks in support of the Corporate Accounting
Function.
 

The SME will serve as a liaison between the accounting
team and IT and/or project teams and will be responsible for testing and approving
testing of system resolutions. The SME will also be responsible for working
with internal and external resources to remediate issues related to the
Company’s intercompany transactions, costing, and EDI interfacing.

Position
Description       

• Collaborate with internal and external resources to remediate issues
  related to intercompany transactions

• Provide support, analysis, and research into complex problems and
  processes relating to the Corporate Accounting Function (IDoc requirements, EDI
  interchanges, etc.)

• Serve as SAP technical expert on project teams

• Communicating and interpreting the impact of system
  changes to the Finance organization.

• Evaluating system changes and the impact to the
  closing process

• Develop and train staff on SAP functionality and
  efficient ways to utilize the system

• Ensure compliance to policies, procedures and other
  corporate guidelines

• Contribute to the development and improvement of
  accounting processes

• Support month end close responsibilities in a
  timely and accurate manner as necessary

• Prepare and interpret corporate analysis and
  analytics

• Month-end and quarterly duties including journal
  entry review, search for unrecorded liabilities, etc.

• Research and expand knowledge of SAP and
  disseminate to appropriate parties

Position Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in business related field

• Minimum of 3 years of SAP experience

• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience

• Strong analytical, statistical, and computer skills

• Experience MS Office, including Word and Excel

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional corporate setting

Position Preferences

• ECC 6.0 environment experience

• Manufacturing experience

  communication skills

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to effectively work
  with individuals both inside and outside the company

• Able to manage multiple/conflicting priorities with a strong track
  record of delivery against tight deadlines

Readiness to complete tasks related to accounting.

Ready:

• Intercompany cleanup – (clear old out of balance transactions, research new issues and resolve timely)

• Implement changes (will likely need IT resources, SME will test and approve)

• Oversee intercompany accounting

• Manage quarter end projects (SURL)

Unknown:

• Bring best practices from experience and training to Calumet processes

• GRIR processing and related issues

• Internal order settlement processing

 

Needs training:

• EDI interfacing

• Costing

• Actual implementation of fixes within SAP (data mapping changes, mass SQL changes, etc.)

• Fixed asset module
