Our work depends on Security Specialist joining our team to perform a variety of security support duties within our Customer's Sensitive Activities Office. The Security Specialist shall provide essential security support for the protection of classified information for Collateral, Special Access Program (SAP), and Alternative Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM) information. Tasks include, but are not limited to, assist with the management of initial and continuing access, security education and training, indoctrinations and debriefings, managing security related databases, and facilitating comprehensive resolutions for incidents of mishandling classified information. HOW A SECURITY SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT Under government direction, administer and coordinate security of the Command's SAP and ACCM programs to ensure compliance with government policies and procedures Collaborates with other departments (Human Resources, IT, Program Management) to develop and implement appropriate security programs, policies, or processes Process SAP nominations: review and evaluate candidates' eligibility criteria using the SAP nomination process and make eligibility recommendations for SAP access. Support the Program Control Officer with administrating the ACCM security program Maintain ACCM access control list, verify access, and disseminate products as required. Administer security briefings, SAP/ACCM indoctrinations and debriefings, and security training to command personnel, General Officers, and senior civilian personnel. Administer and track SAP initial and refresher security training and PSQ submissions Working knowledge of the Defense Information Security System (DISS) and Joint Access Database Environment (JADE) to manage personnel's security clearances and SAP access Provide guidance to employees regarding incidents or acts that could be considered a breach of security or impact their clearance and their access to classified information. Assist with oversight and management of security incidents involving classified information; ensure timely notification, track inquiry progress, distribute inquiry results to the appropriate offices, and ensure corrective actions are implemented. Composes correspondence, briefings, and reports for dissemination to senior Command personnel, higher HQs, the SAPCO, and other internal and external government offices. Maintain security office related correspondence, suspense files, records, reports, operating procedures, and the facility's security accreditation and compliance files. Serves as the onsite ARMA security representative; liaison with the ARMA Program Manager and Facility Security Officer on issues affecting ARMA personnel or contracts. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED: Education : Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science or equivalent work experience Required Experience: Minimum five years (5) years security experience in protection of classified information with at least (2) years SAP control security experience Required Technical Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of the DoD's Personnel and Information Regulations, Policies, and Procedures. Working knowledge of DISS. Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI REQUIRED Required Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Excellent oral and written communications skills. The ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and problem solve. Experience working with the U.S. Military and the Special Forces community. Preferred Skills: Special Program Security Certification (SPSC). Experience briefing and interacting with senior level government officials. Experience in conflict resolution. Managing Command-level Security programs.
