Basic Function:

Responsible for all aspects of SAP Security administration including configuration, documenting, testing, training and monitoring audit compliance.  The primary focus of this position will be with the administration of user security for SAP ECC, BW and BPC 10.1 systems in the Sandbox, Development, Quality and Production Environments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance to Security Policies, Procedures, and Controls
  • Provide hands on support for security requirements including authorization maintenance and ID provisioning
  • Assign user profiles and roles according to policy for levels of authorization and permissions
  • Monitor and protect accesses to transactions, tables, and programs
  • Configure and use the auditing, logging, and tracing tools provided by SAP
  • Work with Business Analysts and the business user community to define and document users' authorizations with respect to all SAP applications
  • Provide associated administration support for users; including password resets and other necessary support activities
  • Help ensure SOX compliance with respect to user access permissions (i.e. segregation of duties, internal controls, etc.)
  • Resolve complex security problems
  • Design, configure, document and test application, interface, table and program security roles for all environments
  • Develop custom authorization objects as required
  • Recommend enhanced security settings
  • Work with teams to define transaction and reporting requirements of each role
  • Implement and configure security tools such as GRC
  • Knowledge on ERP Maestro tool will be an added advantage
  • Provide third tier client support as escalated from Helpdesk or IT Technicians.
  • Interact with internal database staff and third-party technology vendors
  • Perform transport creation/release/move
  • Provide after hours support as required
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Position Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • Three or more years of successful "hands on" experience with SAP Security design, implementation and administration
  • Basic knowledge of SAP Basis functions
  • Experienced in providing proven Best Practices solutions for common SAP Security Support issues, GRC, SOX compliance and other challenges
  • Strong experience in implementing and working with security with SAP HR module including Structural Authorizations including ESS & MSS
  • SAP profile and role-based design expertise
  • Experience with resolving end-user security problems/various troubleshooting tools and techniques
  • Experience with Segregation of Duties resolution
  • Experience with role creation and maintenance
  • Experience working with Solution Manager
  • Strong understanding of derived and composite role concepts
  • Experience creating Authorization Objects in SAP Business Warehouse
  • Knowledge of SAP Transports functions/process
  • Able to work in a process driven environment
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with users of all levels to meet their business needs
  • Qualified candidate must be a self-starter capable of working independently and in teams
  • The candidate must be detail oriented and able to perform in a fast-paced team environment
  • On call rotation
