Job Overview:
The North America Benefits Consultant role is responsible for leading the North America Benefits agenda, driving and implementing our benefit strategy, and supporting our global Employee Value Proposition (EVP). You will be responsible for the program portfolio including, health and wellness, income protection, retirement, and related programs ensuring competitiveness aligned to current market practices, company's culture, and EVP. Responsibilities:
- Administers employee benefit programs focusing on retirement plans, Deferred Compensation plans, life insurance, disability insurance and other related benefits by owning benefits policies, practices, and procedures end to end.
- Leads broker and vendor relationships, ensuring that our programs and plans comply with internal and external governance and regulations.
- Works with broker and vendors to conduct regular audits of benefits plans, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and internal policies, including leading NA retirement plan governance work.
- Drives our internal and external communication strategy for the Benefits programs / offerings that is managed by this role
- Prioritizes the positioning of our world class benefit portfolio with our employees
- Manages benefits programs including all aspects of vendor management, development of program success metrics, ongoing communication, escalation management and engagement and ensures that our internal teams are educated and ready to provide support to the inquiries of our employees, HR team and Business leaders
- Holds a close partnership with our Finance team for planning, forecasting and investment purposes
- Provides benefits administration support where required.
- Stays updated on changes in benefit regulations, industry trends, and best practices to ensure compliance of our benefit programs and recommends and implements improvements to our benefits programs
- Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to employee benefits
- Conducts regional planning and analysis to understand the NA regional/country-specific needs
- In collaboration with our broker and vendors, leads the gathering and analysis of market data to effectively understand the local competitiveness of our benefit programs, evaluates vendor proposals and effectively negotiates with suppliers, evaluates vendor proposals and effectively negotiate with suppliers, leads the decision-making process and presentation of business cases and proposals to management
Qualifications
Education, Experience & Training required:
- Min 5-7 years of experience leading and administering US / Canada benefit plans preferred.
- PHR certification a plus.
- Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources, specifically in Benefits and Compensation.
- Deep understanding of 401K plans and governance & regulations
Job Specific Specialized Knowledge & Skills:
- Experience in Complex healthcare and retirement plans - corporate programs
- Experience working with broker and third parties
- Knowledge of the competitive landscape - preferably in high tech industry
- Self-starter who takes a proactive approach to driving program awareness

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP's commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 97,000 - 213,800 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
