**About the team**

The Data Science team at SAP Customer Experience Intelligence & Incubation (CXII) is looking for two AI scientist interns who, in collaboration with other scientists on the team, develop, implement or apply machine learning algorithms to identify and solve business problems. The interns will contribute to existing and new AI projects by developing algorithms, deep learning and other data mining flows and applications as well as doing research partaking in professional conferences and writing technical papers and/or blog posts.

**What youll do:**

**Position title:** SAP iXp Intern AI Scientist

**Location:** San Ramon, CA or Remote/Virtual **(US West Coast preferred)**

**Expected start and end date:** April 2023 September 2023 **(40 hrs/week required)**

**In this role, youll:**

+ Work under the mentorship of other scientists responsible for development of new machine learning models and optimization of existing ML models.

+ Core tasks may include:

+ Supporting machine learning research/project and development teams with all aspects around AI algorithms

+ Designing and implementing novel machine learning algorithms to process real data

+ Applying recent research breakthroughs to real problems to create business value

+ Ensuring explain-ability and ethical integrity of AI algorithms

**Who you are:**

Were looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

+ Qualified applicants must be in pursuit of (or recently graduated from) a bachelors or masters level degree program studying Machine Learning, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.

+ Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of developing productive machine learning-based solutions and/or systems (design, coding, testing, quality assurance) is required:

+ Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Reinforcement Learning, Information Retrieval & Extraction, and Recommendation Systems

+ Knowledge of Python and machine learning software packages such as scikit-learn or TensorFlow, PyTorch

+ Basic knowledge about working with very large datasets in distributed Linux/Unix environments is preferred

+ The selected candidate must be available to work 40 hours/week for a 6-month term beginning in April (or May) of 2023.

SAP provides the hourly base salary rate range applicable for the posted role.
