BASIC PURPOSE: The SAP HCM Dev Lead will be responsible for leading the development & configuration of enterprise-class applications.  This person must demonstrate the ability to work across multiple teams within the IT organization including: BATL (Business Aligned Team Leads), Integration (PI/PO/Boomi), Infrastructure, BASIS, project managers and senior management.  These communications skills are also required when dealing with internal and external parties, including vendors and business partners.  The candidate must be able to clearly communicate project status and results to upper management.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the existing applications and develop state of the art, enterprise-class ABAP solutions that meet the business requirements and are supportable and scalable.
  • Possess the ability to work on multiple tasks and development items and clearly communicate status and potential issues.
  • Continuously improve own skill sets including but not limited to technology, business knowledge, project management, communication, and team mentoring
  • Develop and mentor team members and encourage them to learn new technologies and improve their skill sets
  • Be an innovator for the team by keeping abreast of SAP technologies and development practices
  • Manage tasks or development items through the SDLC
  • Communicate project status to upper management and provide insight on any current and upcoming issues
  • Escalate issues to key management and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with project managers and business analysts to ensure development is on track and to resolve issues and provide root cause analysis for defects
  • Analyze and optimize performance of key processes using tools such as SAT, SQLM, and debugging.
  • Make recommendations to functional teams of any possible improvements to standard or custom processing that may improve user experience, performance, or system stability.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business with MIS or technology-related degree (C.S.)
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of SAP ABAP development experience, including object-oriented ABAP (Required)
    • 6+ years of SAP HR ABAP development experience (Required)
    • 4+ years of technical team leadership experience (Required)
    • Strong understanding of Logical databases in HR and expert in reading SAP payroll clusters (Required)
    • Knowledge of the SuccessFactors modules like Employee Central and Employee Central Payroll (Preferred)
    • Strong Understanding of ABAP development capabilities in integration areas like Proxy, IDOC/ALE, RFC’s, SAP Gateway oData services and flat file interfaces
    • Strong knowledge of SQL queries and SuccessFactors Learning Management Reporting tool
    • Experience with creating OData/SOAP query collections in Postman and writing groovy scripts (Preferred)
    • Experience in various SAP ECC modules a plus
    • Familiarity with development on SAP HANA database
    • Experience in ABAP Dynpro/Dialog programming using tab strips, controls etc. (Preferred)
    • Extensive experience with CMOD user exits, BADI’s, implicit and explicit enhancement spots. (Preferred)
    • Experience with SMARTFORMs and Adobe forms a plus
    • Familiarity or experience with SAP PI/PO, SAP CPI (Cloud Platform Integration), Boomi integrations (Preferred)
    • SAP cloud platform development experience a big plus
    • Experience with API Management tools (SAP APIM, MuleSoft) a plus
    • Experience in SAP cloud platform, WebIDE development, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Portal services, OData services, configuration & customize Fiori apps and Launchpad a plus
    • Experience with multiple full life-cycle implementations (Preferred)

    • Able to multi-task and work under tight deadlines
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills
    • Ability to develop detailed technical design documents based on requirements which may be functional specifications or user stories using the Agile methodology
    • Extensive experience in software development methodologies
    • Desire to learn new things and grow with the business
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision
