Job Summary:
Analyzes, designs, and configures packaged software products (SAP) to meet business implementation needs especially in the area of SAP 'Procure to Pay', 'Production Planning' and 'Supply and Demand Planning'.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Uses knowledge of business functions and processes, configures and design products, functionality of software packages (specialized in SAP 'Procure to Pay',' Production Planning', 'Supply and Demand Planning') and implementation tools and methodology to configure packaged software products to meet business requirements and specifications.
- Working with SMEs and Business User teams in Analyzing/Gathering requirements, preparing Business requirement documents/Functional specifications, mapping detailed to-be design business process flows using ASAP methodology and ability to map them through standard configuration / customized solutions.
- Independently coordinates all activities required for system implementation to meet major milestones and the overall project timeline. Maintain close communication with Technical and Business team to resolve any design issues.
- Assists with management of SAP Advanced Planning & Optimization - specifically in areas of GATP/Rule based Allocation/Product Allocation and CIF management.
- Ensures the overall effectiveness of software systems and proactively evaluates, recommends and implements cost effective improvements.
- Evaluates hardware specifications and/or software technology against existing and future needs.
- Monitors, evaluates, and reports on the ongoing performance and capacity of assigned area(s) of the computing environments (software and hardware specifications) in order to ensure business requirements are met.
- Has experience working/consulting with external 'Managed Service providers' in a mostly offshore model. Providing guidance and oversight on their performance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Level Specifications:
- Mastery knowledge of industry best practices and disciplines for Manufacturing and Distribution industries. Considered a subject matter expert within the organization (SAP Procure to Pay & Production Planning - Demand Planning, Requirements Planning, Purchasing and Production and contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards.
- Lead requirements gathering discussions with internal and external customers. Clearly document functional requirements and perform fit-gap analysis; develops solutions to highly complex and uniquely challenging situations. Assignments require extensive evaluation of alternatives and variables. Expected to make improvements to policies and procedures.
- Identify, document, and perform functional testing to ensure completeness and accuracy of the solution.
- Develop and execute proof of concepts to demonstrate feasibility of proposed solutions.
- Works independently toward long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated using independent judgment and discretion. May act as informal team lead and/or coach less experienced team members and resources from MS provider.
- Serves as consultant to management and/or internal/external spokesperson for the organization on major initiatives related to policies, plans and long-range objectives.
- Actions may impact the organization and its reputation. Effects of erroneous decisions may be long-lasting, influence the future course of the organization and/or require the expenditure of extensive additional resources.
Work Experience:
- Typically, 8+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.
Education and Certification(s):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
- SAP Supply Chain Management & logistics modules experience with strong expertise in Production Planning and Control (PP), Materials Management (MM)
- Multiple Full Life Cycle SAP Implementations
- Experience leading, managing, and coordinating with offshore team on multiple projects
- Leads integrated design efforts to meet business needs across functional areas.
- Experienced in managing/guiding external service providers
- Good communication skills
- Ability to interact with others in a motivational manner and motivate others in process development and utilization
