The Finance Systems Analyst is the primary in-house resource supporting the SAP FICO (Financial Accounting and Controlling) modules and related activities to the USA Finance team.


This highly visible role collaborates with business and technical resources and utilizes business and technical depth and a pragmatic approach to system design and problem-solving to effectively address organizational needs and improve processes. 


The successful candidate will have manufacturing sector experience and be familiar with job costing, Percentage of Completion (POC) reporting, and SAP integrations from Finance to PS (Project System), CS (Customer Service), MM (Materials Management), PM (Plant Maintenance), and SD (Sales & Distribution). An understanding of the SAP asset accounting (FI-AA) module is also required. Since time collection is a key part of the job costing system, experience with Cross-Application Time Sheet (CATS) and Kronos is a plus. 


Responsibilities include:



  • Partner with the business and IT teams to provide support and training to Houston finance teams.
  • Gather requirements and prepare business process documents including Business Process Procedures (BPP) and User Stories.
  • Work through issues, determine the root cause of problems, and address with appropriate team(s).
  • Assist various departments and users with issues that have the potential to impact finance.
  • Collaborate on SAP configuration for all areas of Finance and Accounting.
  • Partner with corporate IT and other global regions (Latin America, Middle East, Canada) to identify and implement solutions in support of the global transition from strictly Manufacturing projects to EPC/ITK (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) projects, including revenue recognition and allocation/reporting of margins to all stakeholders in projects.
  • Work with the relevant stakeholders to ensure standardized global reporting of large projects.
  • Work with Operations on the successful implementation of Shop Floor Scheduling functionality and ensure the financial implications of this new functionality are understood and managed.
  • Work with department managers to ensure a transition of Estimating/Forecasting functionality from in-house developed applications (IMACS) to SAP. E.g. Product costing (move from MAP/MAUC to Standard Costing). Ensure true costs of materials (components/finished goods) is captured in the system for estimating purposes.
  • Ensure any recent and/or potential future acquisitions are successfully integrated in the company’s systems.
  • Guide the creation and execution of test scripts.
  • Occasional business travel to Canada or other regions may be required.
