Plant Overview: Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc. was the first zero-landfill automotive manufacturing company in America and is the safest vehicle manufacturer in the country. SIA is a proud pioneer and industry leader in vehicle safety and environmental responsibility. The manufacturing plant is a 4.4 million square foot facility with 6,400+ associates and is growing. The automotive manufacturing plant houses both production and administration offices. The SIA facility is a fully-integrated automotive OEM, meaning that our manufacturing process begins with sheet metal and ends with a high-quality vehicle – all under one roof. Subaru’s customer base has proven to be economically resilient during economic downturns. This brand loyalty has led to our plant’s continuous and aggressive growth since its 1989 inception.
The Role & Immediate Project(s): SAP FICO, S/4 HANA, Financial Controls Assurance
SIA will be upgrading their current systems to SAP S4 HANA. The project launch is set for early September 2020. You will work with SIA’s Finance, IT, and services firm partner Deloitte to execute an SAP S/4 HANA greenfield, best practices implementation, then sustain and build on that implementation as part of SIA's long-term SAP roadmap. You will analyze requirements and system capabilities, meeting frequently with various parties to ensure that all needs are addressed, and that people, process, and technology are aligned in supporting the efficient administration of SIA's manufacturing operations. In this role, you will be finance’s technical lead, liaising heavily with SIA’s IS department which has one SAP FICO lead and one SAP Materials module lead on site. The reason for this opening is that the Finance department requires their own 'in-house' SAP FICO S4 HANA expert as the information systems department offers limited support to finance.
Finance Department: This group consists of 25 professionals and has general accounting, cost, customs, and special projects. You will be part of the special projects team. Your first year of employment will involve providing your expertise to support the project through to completion. After the project's completion, you will then provide on-going support for finance in SAP - implement new technologies, keep current with best practices, and keep SIA on the curve. You will also provide ongoing support to help Finance adapt to the ongoing, cross-functional needs across the plant's departments: Engineering, procurement, logistics, etc.
