The U.S. Business Unit Sr. Capital Accountant is responsible for managing the accounting associated with fixed assets including depreciation, CAPEX accruals, Assets Under Construction (AUC), Asset Retirement Obligation (ARO) and the year-end impairment process. Additional responsibilities of the role include the monthly management of the Chart 1 performance reporting package for each assigned asset. In addition to Capital Accounting responsibilities, the Sr. Capital Accountant, as part of the Joint Venture and Capital Accounting Team may be tasked with performing other duties within the team. These other responsibilities may include collaborating with working interest partners to maintain and further developed our working relationships through proactive communication. As part of their role, the Sr. Capital Accountant may be requested to become familiar with the various JOA’s, PSC’s and JDA’s for our U.S. and international exploration projects.
The successful candidate for this role will have broad knowledge of operational accounting for both operated and non-operated assets in the U.S. and international arenas, performance reporting, and will have working knowledge of COPAS and AIPN accounting procedures.
