Position Title     : SAP BASIS Administrator
Location               : Houston, TX
Duration              : 6-12 months

• 7+ Years of SAP Basis Administration Experience.
• Sr. BASIS Administrator responsible for maintaining continuity of Systems.
• Need to provide input as needed on the system impact of enhancements and assist in the development of cost estimates for work requests.
• Analyze issues (defects and enhancements) and provide estimates of time to perform a change from system perspective.
• Understanding the system requirements and architecting solutions.
• Liaise effectively with the internal and external  audit team to ensure that changes in scope is agreed and that quality review work is performed at appropriate times in the audit.
• Liaise effectively with clients at departmental level to ensure efficient completion of individual reviews.
• Carry out debriefs with department managers to communicate the results of the internal audit reviews, and ensuring that the scale and scope of the deliverables resulting from audit recommendations are adequately understood.
• Evaluating, monitoring and performing of corrective actions taken to address control weaknesses identified.
• Thorough knowledge of professional frameworks governing IT audits.
• Conceptual understanding of the workflows, interdependencies, barriers and complexities inherent in operational processes to evaluate risk and implement process improvements.
• A knowledge and understanding of the rationale underlying business processes, systems and technologies.
• Sound up to date knowledge of Compliance standards / best practices and how to apply these within the related industry.
• A conceptual and integrated understanding of physical risk, operational risk, financial risk, process risk, compliance risk and image risk.
• A conceptual and integrated understanding of implementing and evaluating computer assisted audit techniques.
• Interaction with Infra team, DB team & SAP security team for prompt actions on business, development & IT support team issue.
• Performance tuning of the system.
• Provide review on fine tuning, sizing related issues & needs.
• Ensure that application and configurations are transitioned into pre-production and production following established processes
• Participate in patch deployment and platform upgrades
• Develop and refine technical designs and specifications that meet requirements and are integrated across process areas and technology solutions.
• Review system administration standards of application portfolio on a continuous basis
• Validate system defects and impact analysis
• Work with System Administration team in performance and stress testing
• Ensure up to date DR testing is done on mission critical systems where applicable
• Review technical designs and lead technical projects
• Advise on future application/platform upgrades
• Work closely with application user groups and industry bodies
• Proactive system monitoring
• Transport in complex system architecture
• Kernel upgrades
• Memory, Buffer management & tuning at SAP level
• Patch, add-ons & SAP notes application
• Performance tuning at SAP level
• Problem resolution in productive environment
• Basic understanding of Solution Manager
• Heterogeneous & Homogeneous system copy
• Should have sound knowledge on  database  specially oracle.
• Fair understanding of OS especially AIX and LINUX.
• Some basic understanding of OLAP database
• Some basic understanding of BW & APO (Live cache)
