Description
NGK Spark Plugs is now hiring for an SAP ABAP Developer supporting our Wixom, MI corporate office, along with other US locations. This position will report to our SAP Enterprise Manager.
Essential Duties:
- Effectively utilize standard enterprise tools to develop or implement technical components.
- Participate in planning and executing implementations.
- Understand and debug code.
- Help to verify implementation success. Provide ongoing development support post project implementation and act as the long-term support partner for delivered SAP solutions.
- Communicate status of work in progress to project team or requestor.
- Resolve most issues independently. Escalate more complex issues to the leads in the team.
- Follow continual improvement best practices by identifying and diagnosing improvement opportunities.
- Works with product owner and functional analysts to resolve requirement gaps uncovered in design or within specifications or requirements.
- Prepare, keep/maintain technical documentation current for platform, service, or technical package components.
- Adheres to change and incident management standards and expectations.
- Stay current with capabilities of platform and other components.
- Execute testing lifecycle from Unit Test through UAT and Regression to ensure effective delivery of high quality solutions in the program landscape.
- Write test cases and report results.
- Participate in creating prototypes or proofs of concepts for package enhancements.
- Operate as an internal consultant within the IT department.
- Responsible for quickly resolving and documenting day to day issues as they arise.
Academic Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
- BA/BS or equivalent experience (STEM: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years total work experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in ABAP development (like WEB-Dynpro, Web Services, RFC, BAPI, Development workbench, Reports (classical and interactive), Module Pool/Dialog Programming, menu Painter, Screen Painter, Function Modules, SAP Scripts, Smartforms, Adobe forms, Workflow, ABAP Query, BDC, Data Dictionary, LSMW, ALE/IDOC, ALV, ABAP Objects, HR Info Types, Logical Database, User Exits, Enhancements, BADIs)
- Experience with Enhancement and Support Packs (familiarity with SPAU, SPDD, OSS Notes)
- Ability to learn and adhere to NGK Testing tools
- Strong cross function knowledge in one or more of the following areas: SD, MM, FI/CO, WM
- Must have good Interdependence skills (Oral and Written Communication, Peer Relationships, Listening)
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Experience in unit testing, developing/testing application interfaces and integration testing
- Excellent organization, planning and administration
- Must have strong technical analytic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel up to 30%
