Builders FirstSource (BFS) is embarking on a multi-year business transformation that will enable us to outperform our competition and enable industry transformation. In connection with this initiative, BFS will harmonize our core operations on SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud.
The Manager, IT is the internal BFS technology lead that will oversee the optimal process design of plan to produce in the following solutions:
- SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition - leveraging the core manufacturing and production functionality; spanning production planning, shop floor control, material management, quality management and control, maintenance management, cost management, production control and analytics.
- SAP S/4HANA Cloud for Manufacturing Planning& Scheduling - drive enterprise collaboration via product planning, change management, and operations by minimizing disruptions via routings, work instructions, and aligning shop floor execution. Aim to reduce manufacturing cycle times, streamline build package creation and planning, and leverage responsive production planning scenarios.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with business stakeholders and business process owner(s) to create and develop comprehensive manufacturing and production planning roadmap spanning solutions outlined above.
- Lead and manage the SAP Manufacturing and Production Planning processes, including configuration, integration, customization, master data, and reporting spanning functions of demand planning, capacity planning, materials management, material requirements planning (MRP), sales and operations planning (S&OP), production scheduling, shop floor control, and quality management.
- Lead and manage the organization's plan to produce processes, ensuring alignment with Builders FirstSource's business transformation strategy and principles while developing comprehensive release strategy for respective area.
- Manage and mentor a team of IT Business Analysts and Subject Matter Specialists to ensure effective collaboration, knowledge sharing, and delivery of high-quality solutions. Develop team members' skills and career paths through coaching, feedback, and training opportunities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Develop and monitor objectives and key results (OKRs) for process area, establishing corresponding KPIs to track progress and measure success. Analyze KPI data, identify trends, and recommend areas for improvement to ensure continuous optimization and improvement.
- Provide regular reports and updates to stakeholders and leadership, including insights and recommendations based on KPI data analysis. Apply design thinking and/or process redesign principles to develop innovative solutions that enhance the end-user experience in SAP Manufacturing and Production Planning processes, incorporating user feedback and insights for a user-centered approach.
- Leads areas of a project from requirements to execution
- Follows appropriate agile and/or other development principles to ensure quality and performance standards.
- Understands where service gaps can occur within work of team and helps implement plans to close service delivery gaps.
- Manages resources, including allocation of current resources into organizational priorities, developing resource plans and roadmaps for future software engineering needs.
- Understands business needs, system functionalities and processes.
- Ensures communication of standards (e.g., coding standards and review)
- Solves complex and escalated aspects of a project as needed.
- Reviews design documentation and may perform coding, debugging, testing, troubleshooting, and threat modeling throughout the development process.
- Stays current on industry trends, implements and monitors new technologies, industry trends and best practices.
- Maintains long-term relationships with vendors and other third-party resources to ensure high quality services are delivered consistently.
- Collaborates with multi-functional teamsto hold technical discussions and solveimmediate problems.
- Provides inputto leadership team on developmentpriorities, resources allocation.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has supervisory responsibilities, including but not limited to: supervises assigned team members (in-person and remote); talent selection and training; planning, assigning and directing work; performance management, including conducting performance reviews; recognizing team members; addressing and resolve concerns timely, escalate for help when necessary.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience in Manufacturing and/or Production related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in managing teams
- 7+ years of experience of overseeing configuration warehouse and/or logistics/transportation related process design, large scale ERP experience preferred.

- Subject to both typical office environment and outside locations with temperature and weather variations.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel up to 40% during the multi-year business transformation, will likely shift down to 20% after initial business transformation is complete.
In addition to the base wage listed, this position is also eligible to earn an annual bonus subject to changes in plan design and documents and in accordance with applicable law. Eligibility and the amount of the bonus varies based on overall company success, thresholds met and other terms and conditions of the Company's active bonus policy for the respective year.
