SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:

The Junior SAP Business Systems Analyst’s role is to assist in planning, designing, developing, and launching efficient business, financial, and operational SAP information systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. This includes gathering, analyzing and presenting data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. The Business Systems Analyst is also responsible for assisting with design, development, and implementation of SAP information systems and software. This individual will apply proven competence, leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Process Ownership

  • Responsible for assisting with and/or leading initiatives and providing consultation to the internal and/or external customer. Consistently applies a consultative approach with customers and seeks to understand the customer's strategy.
  • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business & operations requirements and systems goals and identify and resolve systems issues.
  • Responsible for assisting with and/or leading initiatives and providing consultation to the internal and/or external customer
  • Provide business process guidance on SAP requirements, concept, design, realization and support. Provide consultancy for the best practice processes. Initiate necessary business process re-engineering to have effective and efficient operations or bring up to management on improvement and solutions that will help reduce IT costs
  • Identify cross-functional topics and ensure the process are aligned across SAP modules and other supporting applications
  • Participate in the analysis, configuration, modification, testing and implementation of enhancements across the SAP functions primarily FICO (AR AP AM classic & New GL, PCA, CO-PA, Product Costing, Treasury & Taxes) & seamlessly integrate with functions SAP PP, MM, SD PM & QM with emphasis on master data.
  • Act as Liaison between business users and implementation partners
  • Participate in the demand management process to assist the business in establishing business cases relating to new systems or existing system changes.
  • Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
  •  Stay abreast of latest advances in existing technologies and applications and explore new opportunities and advise what fits with the long-term requirements

Project Execution

  • Collaborate with system owners and users in, the testing of new software programs and applications.
  • Gather, develop, coordinate, and maintain business requirements for various projects and/or systems from initial phase to final implementation, assuring requirements meet standards and update the management with effective reporting
  • Develop use cases and functional specifications and coordinate the capture of process models and functional testing, ensuring system is functionally appropriate, technically sound, and well-integrated
  • Coordinate the process to analyze, evaluate, implement, and maintain systems developed internally and/or externally with an outside vendor
  • Assist in the development of project definitions, cost/benefit and risk analysis, work plans, progress reports, and presentations
  • Coordinates data clean-up/migration activities with IT to support key users and team members.
  • Assist in the adoption of new business procedures resulting from system improvements, through the development of documentation, training, and communication plans.
  • Ensures the project has a plan and that the project moves through the SDLC process to completion. If appropriate, act as project manager for small projects
  • Monitor and report on delivery of what was promised

Operational

  • Provide first and second line support for user issues with attention to details and fundamentals
  • Troubleshoot, coordinate, and maintain production systems/programs/applications, as needed
  • Provide user support and coordinate resolution of issues to include change management, root cause analysis, and appropriate escalation as needed.
  • Proactively support the business processes with issue identification and resolution, and process optimization on a continuous basis.
  • Assist with actions geared at meeting or exceeding target operational KPIs consistently
  • Provide and maintain effective documentation for processes

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Four-year college degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Seven plus (4+) years direct experience in SAP Business Analysis and/or programming design and systems management.
  • Strong analytical and effective leadership skills to understand business and customer needs and provide innovative solutions.
  • Proven experience in development, configuration and implementation of SAP software solutions.
  • Direct, hands-on experience with SAP software and system management tools.
  • Strong SAP knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  • Extensive experience with core SAP ECC software modules (FI/CO MM BPC & SD) and other related modules (Primarily PM & QM). Master data, transactional data and configuration.
  • Practical Finance and costing functional and business knowledge and SAP R/3 implementation experience are a must
  • Strong BW usage experience is preferred
  • B2B integration with suppliers/vendors, companies, plants and suppliers (Integration experience with 3rd party applications and SAP portals)
  • SAP ABAP Query knowledge and proven record of working with technical consultants assisting with design and architecting the solution
  • Experience with FSCM and/or Simple Finance is “nice to have”
  • Project management experience is desired

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Some travel may be required for offsite software and system development management.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components.
