Brooksource is searching for an Associate SAP Security Analyst for our Fortune 500 Energy partner located in Uptown Charlotte, NC for a 6-12 month contract to hire. This is the ideal opportunity for a recent Computer Science college graduate to get their foot in the door and excel within a small team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Computer Science and an interest in Security, no SAP experience needed.
Our client has undergone several mergers and acquisitions in the past few years. This analyst will be part of the SAP Security team within the Customer Connect initiative, which will consolidate four legacy billing systems into one customer service platform to deliver the universal experience customers expect. Internally, this multi-year program will positively impact our client's business by driving efficiencies, consistencies and insights. Externally, the Customer Connect platform will transform how our client serves customers, providing them with the easy, personalized experience they expect from service providers.
SAP Security governs what data and processes users can access inside an SAP landscape. Typically, users are given just enough access to do their jobs. In order to understand the basics of how SAP security operates, picture a warehouse with many locked rooms. To do a task, a user needs to enter (and have access to) the correct room. The job of SAP security services is to make sure each user only has the keys to the rooms they're supposed to be bale to access- this way, employees are prevented from accidentally damaging data they shouldn't have access to (or potentially creating a security issues should they compromise sensitive information).
Daily You Will:
- Work within SAP Security which governs what data and processes users can accesses inside an SAP landscape.
- Assign roles to users. Each role allows users to run certain transactions (processes within the SAP system). When running a transaction, the user gets authorizations to perform specific tasks.
- Under SAP security best practices, admins create a standard role for a position, which can then be assigned to anyone occupying that position.
- Train under Senior SAP Security Analysts to become the long-term Subject Matter Expert
- Learn how to support SAP to effectively back up each team member
- Use an Agile methodology
Skillset:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferably in CS, MIS, or any related field)
- Strong background and core coursework in Computer Science
- Interest in Information Security
- Exposure to Agile methodologies
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset
Qualities of a Top Candidate:
- Strong interpersonal skills and written/oral communication skills to work effectively with business partners, peer IT resources, and all levels of management
- Ability to reason logically analyze and evaluate performance data and information, and draw appropriate conclusions
- Eager and excited learned looking to grow current development skills

- Report: Reporting Directly to the Sr. IT Manager
