Description

The Architect SAP POSDM is a key member of the team responsible for the design, implementation, documentation and support of the SAP Sales Cycle Process. Provide technical leadership to team and customers to ensure that issues are resolved and new processes meet functional requirements. This role will contribute to project plans, documents, and deliverables. They provide customer support to the core areas of the Sales Cycle including: Sales Audit, Treasury, Store Operations, Fuel Pricing, CAT Team, Marketing, Master Data, ABAP, Basis and BW.

Principal Duties:

  1. Provide leadership on projects, and facilitate the definition of project deliverables. Complete project deliverables based on the agreed scope; estimate work effort, duration, resources and requirements; ensure that requirements are being met. Define tracking mechanisms and ensure IT standards and methodology are met; manage client expectations and project scope; motivate team members; track IT resources; appropriately report status; deliver quality results.
  2. Understand and facilitate the documenting of business processes and procedures cross-functionally. Leverage this knowledge to identify and recommend process and technical solutions to solve business problems.
  3. Participate in initial investigation of software; document system requirements; help evaluate technologies and their capabilities; perform gap analysis between business needs and the technology capabilities; design systems architecture; and develop and execute test scripts. Facilitate the creation of Request for Proposal's, technical and functional specification documents.
  4. Facilitate requirements gathering tasks. Analyze requirements for system enhancements and modifications. Facilitate the documentation of business and technical requirements. Research and analyze options; recommend solutions; and write functional specifications.
  5. Develop solutions based on requirements, create test scripts ant perform unit testing, create and test installation scripts and procedure.
  6. Create change control documents, plan and execute large scale deployment of software.
  7. Facilitate planning and execution of appropriate user acceptance testing with business owners.
  8. Facilitate and participate in execution and planning of robust end-to-end testing, coach team members on development and testing best practices.
  9. Serve as technical lead for operational support issues escalated by team members of key business partners. Work with IT and outside vendors to resolve technology issues for the business, corporate departments and other IT groups.
  10. Develop and maintain processes and procedures and standard operating procedures as appropriate. Develop support schedules.
  11. Coordinate with other IT departments in the execution of system reboots; maintenance, upgrades/implementations, system and data restorations, mass data changes and system cleanup. Investigate and remedy the root cause of service delivery incidents. Work with software vendors and their resources and provide communication to the Wawa business owners.
  12. Maintain project updates, issue resolutions documentation and daily support communication with business community. Primary contact on large projects.
  13. Effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization and explain technical issues in a way that is clear and concise.
  14. Coordinate project status meetings and project updates to business steering committees and IT Leadership. Maintain communication between Wawa and vendors pertaining to external projects. Keep project manager and direct project team updated on project status.
  15. Coach and mentor other team members in their development; provide constructive suggestions as to recommended processes, procedures and templates. Actively seek opportunities for roles which provide career growth for Associates; serve as a resource and knowledge expert to project manager in the project areas. Participate in the appraisal process by providing feedback to Project Manager for direct report associates. Participate and provide input on the hiring and selection process. Conduct and coordinate team cross-training.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a technical discipline (e.g., engineering) preferred
  2. 10+ years of related work experience including 5+ years of SAP experience
  3. Prior experience leading SAP design, implementation, and support initiatives
  4. Exposure to appropriate support and management
  5. Knowledge of standard support development frameworks and methodologies
  6. Fluent on all SAP functional areas and SAP debugging and performance analysis tools
  7. Fluent with the implemented SAP security model
  8. Fluent on multiple SAP technologies (e.g., ABAP, ETL, XI, BPS, MAP, POSDM)
