Level: Senior Business Analyst

The Senior Business Analyst within Cardinal Health’s Medical Segment is responsible for solution delivery analysis within the Order to Cash process.  The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for ensuring solutions being delivered follow recommendations and achieve the business value proposed. 

Accountabilities

  • Perform effective analysis of new OTC capabilities and/or changing business needs:  investigate the business operations, identify and expose the causes behind the results achieved, and articulate the effects of those results on the business
  • Partner with functional experts to ensure scope is clearly defined for all OTC build initiative, or halt work after only minimal investment
  • Lead elicitation sessions with impacted stakeholders to develop and articulate process flows, requirements and rules, and prepare appropriate documentation in support of all OTC build work
  • Partner with Subject Matter Experts to ensure User Acceptance Testing and Change Management activities are planned and acted upon for all OTC solution delivery
  • Provide timely and effective communications, including appropriate status updates, to all impacted stakeholders / project partners
  • Convey thoughts and ideas simply and concisely; break down complex topics and translates content in easy-to-understand messages; separate what is important from what is not

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field, with course work in the field of SAP or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a lead business analyst in SAP environment
  • Proficient PC skills; including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Sharepoint
  • Functional understanding of the Order to Cash business process; working knowledge of SAP SD configuration preferred
  • Implementation experience in full life cycle, large scale SAP project, where solution integrated across SAP modules, and other non-SAP technologies and e-Commerce Platforms
  • Working knowledge of Cardinal Health’s IT Service Management tools such as ServiceNow and ALM
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that includes Cardinal employees and offshore/onshore consultants
  • Hands on experience gathering requirements and creating functional specs
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, organizational and planning skills
  • Effective oral/written communicator; excellent listener

What Business Analysis contributes to Cardinal Health

Business Analysis is responsible for deeply understanding the business in multiple functional areas and across Business Units, as well as understanding the application landscape and capabilities. They maintain relationships with the business and leverage requirements engineering practices and methods to enable improved business processes to drive business success. They align business strategies and capability needs into business and technical requirements to ensure IT systems enable the desired value.

  • Knows and executes best practices for business analysis processes and functions (from an industry and strategic standpoint), including requirements elicitation methods. Knows emerging trends.
  • Defines requirements in accordance with SDP/SDLC, management and project/product scope. Ensures problem statements and objectives are clearly defined. Ensures requirements are aligned to project scope, objectives and strategies.
  • Leads elicitation sessions using variety of requirements gathering methods such as interviews, documentation analysis, surveys, site visits, business models with executives, managers, developers and subject matter experts.
  • Facilitates the team through the analysis of, and makes recommendations towards, complex business decisions.
  • Mediates across different IT teams utilizing knowledge of IT and roles and responsibilities within the organization.
  • Focuses on process analysis and re-engineering, with an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment.
  • Demonstrates excellent listening, communication, and facilitation skills.
