POSITION OVERVIEW

This is a skilled functional and technical position requiring the ability to analyze, design and maintain both new and existing data systems; SAP, Dolphin, and/or XiBuy applications to configure and solve identified business needs.  This position supports end-users from various public agencies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

A. Physically show up for work and provide services as outline in Job Description

B. Function as a technical resource to facilitate the various stages of the data solutions life cycle including: Investigation, Analysis, Design, Testing, Installation and Training, Maintenance, and Withdrawal

C. Investigate existing data solutions for opportunities to improve business processes and participate with management in the investigation of new technologies

D. Analyze proposed data solutions and report findings to management to assist in the planning of long and short term projects and goals

E. Design and configure data solutions and processes using established tools that are consistent established goals and industry standards

F. Test developed solutions to ensure accurate compliance with project goals and established procedures, and document the results for management review

G. Document data solutions and participate in installation and training of impacted personnel (or trainer) as required to facilitate the smooth implementation of the data solution

H. Perform required configurations and/or modifications to data applications to meet changing business needs or as directed by law

I. Work with management and Systems personnel to plan, and execute the transition of data solutions and the withdrawal of obsolete applications while ensuring the integrity of the financial data

J. Successfully work with non-technical personnel to facilitate the project life cycle including such tasks as: researching business rules, training, problem resolution, etc.

K. Assist Systems and Technology personnel in the diagnoses of reported issues

L. Maintain and expand a personal working knowledge of industry standard development tools and procedures

M. Coordinate work and problem resolution with outside vendors as required

N. Maintain and enhance the integrity of the financial data, its accurate and timely storage/retrieval, and detailed audit logs pertaining to creation, change, and deletion of data

O. Work with management to develop alternative operating procedures as part of the established, agency emergency plans

P. Work with other agency information services representatives as required to achieve mutual work assignments and goals

Q. Performs other duties as required

Education and Experience:
  • Level I:
2-year Associate degree in computer science or related field, and 2 or more years of experience with SAP or other ERP application, preferably in Finance, Human Resources/Payroll, and/or Materials Management.  Proven analysis, design, and configuration.
  • Level II, Senior:
A Bachelors' degree in computer science or related field, and 5 or more years of experience with SAP, related to Finance, Human Resources/Payroll, and/or Materials Management.  Proven analysis, design, and configuration, capable of converting user needs into technical specifications.  Experience with LSMW, SAP Query, Release Strategies, Workflow, other 3rd party applications, and/or ABAP.
  • Acceptable completion of fingerprinting and a background check
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
  • Ability to apply cognitive analysis skills to complex problems
  • Ability to develop viable solutions to established business needs for data storage, security, and access
  • Ability to diagnose, identify and develop solutions for both current and potential data storage/retrieval issues as they pertain to business procedures
  • Ability to learn and apply new technologies and industry standards
  • Ability to communicate in a concise, professional, and understandable manner
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the workings of SAP
  • Possess a good understanding of Financial/Accounting concepts and the flow of Financial information.
Essential Physical Skills:
  • Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction)
  • Acceptable hearing (with or without correction)
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
  • Ability to sit and operate a computer for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle as required
Environmental Conditions:
  • Works indoors in an office environment
