SUMMARY

The IS Security Analyst is responsible for the analysis, design, implementation and support of application security across the major business applications within the enterprise application portfolio. The primary applications include SAP ERP, SAP Netweaver Business Warehouse, SAP Netweaver Process Integration (PI/XI) among others.

Application security projects include new SAP role development or enhancements to support new or enhanced SAP business processes, new SAP applications or technology. In addition, the role is expected to implement security strategies – in close partnership with Internal Controls - for security focused projects such as corporate acquisitions or divestitures, or process improvement projects such as enterprise wide role redesigns, identity management, etc. Security role development includes SOD (segregation of duties) analysis and resolution in close corporation with Internal Controls and the business role owners.

The position is also responsible for day to day production support activities in the SAP Security area including user administration.

The analyst executes the segregation of duties reviews and monitors for potential security policy violations and reports to IT Management and recommends corrective actions. The IS Security Analyst reviews role and program change requests for completeness and recommends changes to improve overall SAP security. Responsibilities also include the review of IT controls for completeness and to review findings of the IT controls audit process. This individual is responsible for day-to-day system security configuration tasks and user administration throughout all project lifecycles and production support. The day-to-day support requires the use of support ticket processing where the issue is analyzed and a best-practice solution is recommended and implemented. The IS Security Analyst also develops and maintains appropriate system documentation to ensure that the documentation is current. This position also oversees the maintenance of a library of system-supporting process and procedure documentation.

The IS Technical Analyst – SAP Security is a member of the Technical Services team located in Houston, Texas.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain application security for SAP ERP, BW, PI and other business applications as requested.
  • Execute segregation of duties reviews
  • Monitors for potential security policy violations and report to IT Management and recommend corrective actions.
  • Review IT controls for completeness and review findings of the IT controls audit process.
  • Responsible for day-to-day system security configuration tasks and user administration throughout all project lifecycles and production support.
  • Use support ticket processing for issue analysis
  • Develop and maintain appropriate system documentation
  • Oversee the maintenance of a library of system-supporting process and procedure documentation
  • Contribute as required during application and security audits.
  • Apply generally accepted industry standard project management methodologies as well as Sarbanes-Oxley requirements to the Westlake standardized application enhancement process.
  • Create, or support creation of, required reports in response to business user and IT management’s needs.
  • SAP License measurement

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field required
  • 10 or more years of SAP ERP Security experience preferred
  • 2 or more years of SAP BW and Business Objects experience preferred
  • 2 or more years working with External/Internal Audit teams as part of the SAP Security team in a SOX regulated public company (preferred)
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills and ability to frame issues clearly for less technical colleagues and customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, teamwork, and issue resolution
  • Good consulting skills to gather information requirements, and participate in analysis and user interface design discussions.
  • Flexible, adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

  • Ability to produce high quality work in a short period of time with little supervision

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - must be able to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms for both senior level management and frontline staff.
  • Excellent hands on experience in developing SAP security roles in SD, MM, FI and other SAP ERP Modules.
  • Experience using SAP GRC tools such as Symmetry preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an open office concept.  Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.  May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
