Opportunity Profile:

  • This position is responsible for managing the technical health of our Global Human Resources and Payroll Application portfolio primarily consisting of 2 Key Systems – an on premise SAP HCM Global implementation and an integrated cloud based SAP SuccessFactors suite for Performance Management and Recruitment.  This technical leadership role will ensure that all projects and system support are implemented and maintained to quality by adopting best practice SAP technologies including ABAP and Web Dynamic Programming.  This hands-on role will be involved with Application Analysis and Design, Development, Integration, Maintenance and Support for the delivery of projects and minor/major releases.  They will work closely with SAP Functional Analysts and business owners to understand the business requirements and deliver solutions that support the ongoing Global HR and Payroll IT and Business Strategy.  They will also oversee and provide guidance to the Technical consultants we contract with from time to time for our larger initiatives.

    The ideal candidate would be located within commutable distance to our corporate facilities located in either Richmond, IN or Indianapolis, IN.  Strong candidates located outside these areas may be considered to work remotely. 

    • Responsible for the technical delivery of Belden’s on premise Global HCM SAP system and the integrations with our SAP SuccessFactors Cloud based implementation
    • Act as technical design authority and architect for entire HCM and Payroll Application portfolio
    • Ensures that the appropriate technology is used to maintain our SAP HCM system and all integrations points with other Belden enterprise systems
    • Partner with our SAP BASIS team to ensure that our environments are maintained and our systems are patched regularly
    • Be able to develop and support our ABAP and WebDynPro applications in our SAP HCM system
    • Lead the technical design and implementation of all HR and Payroll projects, enhancements and system support
    • To develop quality code and its associated documentation adhering to team and departmental development standards
    • To provide SAP technical support including analysis, development, testing, tracking and resolution
    • To demonstrate high level of communication skills (verbal and written)
    • To ensure current skills are up-to-date through research and practice
    • To engage professionally with our HCM and Payroll stakeholders


    •     Qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
    •     Bachelor’s degree in a technical related field
    •     Minimum 10 years hands on SAP ABAP/4 Custom Development experience
    •     Minimum 8 years of experience deploying and supporting SAP HCM and Payroll Solutions
    •     Minimum 3 years of SAP HCM technical lead
    •     Minimum 2 full cycle implementations in SAP HCM
    •     Good functional and process knowledge working with HCM and/or Payroll business processes is a big plus
    •     Hands on experience with Web Dynamic Programming in support of ESS / MSS and HR Renewal
    •     Experience with SAP HCM and NetWeaver Portal and Process Integration (PI)
    •     Technical knowledge of the following:
    •     SAP NetWeaver Portal, NWBC, FPM, OO ABAP, BAPI, RFC
    •     SAP BusinessObjects Webi, Design Studio, Lumira
    •     NetWeaver Gateway, SAP ECC, FI, HR, Workflows,
    •     Java, J2EE, Servlets, JSP, XML, Web Services, J2ME, SOAP, JSON
    •     Experience with SAP SuccessFactors modules such as Performance Management & Recruitment is a big plus
    •     Possess a strong track record of engineering leadership with a 'hands on' style. Important skills include facilitating resolution of design conflicts, partnering effectively with leadership at different levels to gain consensus, creating workable and realistic plans, and ensuring a smooth execution
    •     Be customer focused, seeking constantly to understand, from the customer's point of view, the problems being faced and the solutions that may work best
    •     Experience evaluating, negotiating and managing systems integrators, software and hardware vendors and contractors
    •     Strong System Integration and Data Migration experience
    •     Experience implementing, designing and enforcing project management methodology and controls
    •     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
